Method and device for joining together a thermoplastic material and a material of the cellulose type, such as cardboard, wood, paper, woven or nonwoven textile materials or similar products. They are characterised by an application of ultrasonic welding techniques, such that not only is the thermoplastic material to be assembled softened, but also the said material is caused to migrate into at least certain zones of the cellulose material intended to be joined to the said thermoplastic material.
