摘要 PURPOSE:To carry out the extension construction of a new subscriber without any instantaneous breaking when it is necessary by installing plural branch waveguide chips for subscriber extension previously at a connection part for new subscriber of an optical transmission line. CONSTITUTION:A breakless extensive connector 1 is incorporated in the connection part for new subscriber of a main line optical transmission line Lo and plural branch waveguide chip 2 which have waveguides 2a for the main line and branch waveguides 2a for subscribers are provided successively; and those waveguide chips 2 are fitted between clamping frames 4 and 4 which are formed on the substrate 3 of, for example, the main connector body and extend lengthwise, and pressed and fixed by contacting means 5 and 5 at frame end parts. Although an external communication means 8 for a subscriber is connected to the subscriber branch waveguide 2b of a desired branch waveguide chip 2 through a waveguide chip 6 for a terminal, the plural branch waveguide chips 2 for subscribers are provided previously, so an external communication means 8 is extended properly every time a subscriber applies.
