PURPOSE:To prevent variation of rotational quantity of a capstan motor during intermittent drive, by a method wherein terminal voltage of a capacitive element to constitute a smoothing means is fixed to a prescribed voltage at non-drive period during the intermittent drive of the capstan motor. CONSTITUTION:An operational amplifier 21 supplies PWM signal with pulse width corresponding to level of error signal SE through a smoothing means comprising a coil 25 and a capacitor 26 to a capstan motor 9. When a magnetic tape is fed intermittently, control signal SC is supplied to a terminal 18. While the control signal SC is at high level, a switch 19 is turned on; while the signal SC is at low level, the switch 19 is turned off. A switch 28 is reversed to the switch 19 in the ON/OFF state, and terminal voltage V is fixed to a prescribed voltage E1 by a voltage source 29 at non-drive period of the capstan motor 9. |
