PURPOSE:To enable high-speed printing without increasing a torque of a motor for oscillating a ribbon cassette, by providing a storing member so supported that it can be oscillated in a direction orthogonal to the feeding direction of an ink ribbon, and a gear member for transmitting the rotation of the motor for oscillating the storing member. CONSTITUTION:An ink ribbon cassette 11 is provided with a gear 11a integrally with a casing of the cassette 11. The casing is provided with bosses 11b at left and right parts, the bosses are fitted into grooves 12a provided in a carriage body, and the cassette is so fitted that it can be rotated with the bosses 11b as a center of rotation by cassette holders 14 rotatably fitted to the carriage body by springs 13. Therefore, there is no need for a cassette frame. In addition, at the time of moving a printing part of an ink ribbon to a predetermined position, it is sufficient for a pulse motor 5 to generate a torque necessary for accelerating or decelerating an inertial load of the cassette 11, so that a small inexpensive motor for oscillation may be used, the weight of the carriage is reduced, and 1 high-speed printing may be performed. |
