The electrical resistance of the coating 4 is measured in order to obtain an indication which is used as a representative parameter of the wearing of the coating 4. The measurement means 8, 9, 10 comprise at least one electrode 8 interposed between the shell 3 of the receptacle and the coating 4, an electrical insulation 7 being provided between the electrode 8 and the shell 3. The said electrode 8 consists of a reference conducting surface, a grid, located opposite all or part of the wall of the receptacle 1, and the said electrical insulation 7 consists of asbestos board. <IMAGE>
