It is produced by the folding and gluing of a cut-out sheet of cardboard comprising three longitudinal strips 2, 4, 15 connected to each other by folding lines 3, 12, the strip 2 being intended to be glued to the rear of the edge 16 of the so-called bottom strip 15. The two strips 4, 15 comprise rounded folding zones 6, 17 at their ends allowing the bottom of the package to be formed when it is put into shape. Furthermore, the top strip 4 comprises an elliptical slit 11 making it possible to fold down this upper section of the strip 4 against the bottom 15. In this way there is formed a channel making it possible to engage the sausage in the open section delimited by the elliptical slit 11 and limited by the folded-down bottoms 7, 18. Two slits 9, 20 are provided to allow the sausage's thread to pass through. <IMAGE>
