Folding rope ladder made up of "shoes" 2 encircled by the strands 11, 12 of the rope providing a double safety system joined by a single axial core. A removable shoe 3 provided with a retaining element 4 and with a snap 5 at its upper part makes it possible "rig oneself" at all points on the core 1 of the ladder directly above a shoe 2. A "lashing" 6 at the lower part which is also provided with a snap 7 renders this shoe entirely integral and parallel at the location chosen to carry out the work. The snap of the safety harness hooked to the core of the ladder provides perfect support at three points, leaving the hands completely free. The device according to the invention is especially intended for boat masts, potholing, etc.
