PURPOSE:To prepare a novel nucleoside oxidase by cultivating a bacterium belonging to the genus Pseudomonas, capable of producing nucleoside oxidase. CONSTITUTION:A bacterium belonging to the genus Pseudomonas, capable of producing nucleoside oxidase, e.g., Pseudomonas putida B-0781(FERM-P 5664) is inoculated into a nutrient medium and subjected aerated spinner culture, to collect nucleoside oxidase having substrate specificity to at least a nucleoside shown by the formulaI(Base is the residue of base of nucleic acid) and catalyzing action on at least reactions shown by the formulas II and/or III from the culture. |
