<p>The invention relates to a device for biological clarification, which can be arranged in a clarifying tank of a sewage treatment plant, having support elements which have colonisation surfaces on which microscopic organisms can form colonies. The object underlying the invention is to create a device of the abovementioned generic type which makes possible colonisation by an amount of microscopic organisms sufficient for clarification, preferably in regular distribution, in the medium to be clarified situated in the clarifying tank. The object has been achieved according to the invention by holding elements, each of which extends essentially in one dimension, which can be arranged regularly in the clarifying tank and on each of which support elements can be arranged in a row. A support element, which has colonisation surfaces, on which microscopic organisms can form colonies, preferably for a device for biological clarification which can be arranged in a clarifying tank of a sewage treatment plant is distinguished by flat plate elements which are arranged regularly to each other, the surfaces of which are the colonisation surfaces and which are preferably arranged at uniform distances parallel to each other and are joined together by at least one transverse rib to form a plate unit.</p> |
