Method of connecting castings

The invention relates to a method of connecting castings. It is advantageous to subdivide large workpieces produced by casting into smaller castings. To avoid reworking of these castings, without neglecting the centring of the castings, it is proposed according to the invention to fill the intermediate space between the two castings with synthetic resin after the said castings have been aligned by means of adjusting screws and fixed with respect to each other by fastening screws. After curing of the said synthetic resin, the castings are permanently centred with respect to each other and mechanically firmly connected by the connecting screws. By the method according to the invention, reworking is eliminated and by dividing up production into smaller cast parts, a large machine is no longer required for workpiece machining.
