The safety nut for exterior fastenings is used as a means for preventing break-in and theft, for protective grilles, door fittings and the like on houses, walls and floors. By breaking off the wrench attachment at a provided predetermined breaking point of the threaded part by means of commercially available tools, further release of the fastening element from the object which is to be retained is prevented.
