A flexible connecting element, which is attached by its ends to adjoining sections of a filler neck and, where necessary, of the fuel tank and is held in position by the provision of fixing elements, is provided on the filler neck. In order, on the one hand, to present the least possible resistance to the fuel when refuelling and on the other to ensure a sufficient deformation distance in the event of a crash impact on the connecting element, the flexible connecting element comprises an internal rubber hose, which is surrounded by an outer hose of flexible plastic, in sections formed like a bellows. In common fixing areas of the connecting element, the outer hose is led fitting in a radially close-fitting manner up to the rubber hose.
