Braking device, especially a multi-disc brake, in which the brake discs can be acted upon by brake-actuating means arranged with the ability to move backwards and forwards in a housing, characterised in that the brake-actuating means have a central portion which is passed through the housing and to the passed-through end of which a cover guided in a sealing manner in the housing is connected and forms a pressure space separated from the discs.
