The connector has a central cylindrical or rectangular shaped section (2a) with a contact pin (2b) for mating with a corresponding female element at one end and a longer pin (2c), for external connection, at the other. The longer pin can be deformed in a variety of ways, to locate in a hole on a printed circuit board (7) where it can be soldered (8). The moulded housing (3) has a cavity for the central section of the contact and two shaped shoulders over which the pin can be bent to form an external connection thus forming a firm anchorage of the contact element.
