A carrier for use on a motorcycle comprises a container (1) having a base and an aperture (6) with elasticated strap members (4) which enable the container to be secured to the pillion seat of a motorcycle as example. The sides of the container converge upwardly from the base. A casing member (2) is detachably and hingedly connected to the container at the rearmost edge (7) and may be pivoted from the position shown into a position in which the casing lies over and closely surrounds the container (1). Latch means (3) are provided to retain the casing in this position. The carrier is preferably made by injection moulding from a plastics material and is shaped to afford good aerodynamic properties. The double walled construction, when the casing (2) is fitted in position over the container (1), provides for high impact resistance. |
