PURPOSE:To restrain a sudden change in torque, by detecting it at a point of time when a change-gear mechanism actually gets shifting to the high speed side at the time of shift-up in an automatic transmission, and controlling engine power so as to be lowered for the specified time from this time. CONSTITUTION:In case of a device which controls an automatic transmission 1 for its gear shifting by a control part 6 on the basis of the shift pattern preset according to the running state of a vehicle, there is provided with an engine power adjusting device 3 adjusting output of an engine 2. And, also there is provided with a detecting device 4, which detects a point of time when a change- gear mechanism actually gets shifting to the high speed side at the time of shift-up in the automatic transmission 1 to be controlled by a control part 6. And, a control signal is fed to the engine power adjusting device 3 by an engine power controlling device 5 as long as the specified time since detecting time at that point that the change-gear mechanism has been shifted to the high speed side at time of the shift-up, whereby the engine output is controlled so as to be lowered down to some extent. With this constitution, reduction in a shift shock is promoted. |
