PURPOSE:To easily set the position of a vehicle by storing previously real position coordinate data corresponding to remark character information entered into a map, and selecting remark character information and thus selecting real position coordinate data. CONSTITUTION:The real position coordinate data corresponding to input remarks one to one, remarks entered into the screen of a display device 5, and character display start coordinate data are sent to the display device 5. Then, the remarks and specific real position coordinate data are displayed on the display device 5 together with respective pieces of road information one over another on the basis of the character display start coordinate data. Thus, the specific real position coordinate data is set as the traveling starting point of the vehicle and the set traveling starting point is stored temporarily in a 2nd storage means 4. A control means 3 reads the traveling starting point out of the 2nd storage means 4 and calculates and sends the current position of the vehicle to the 2nd storage means 4 and display device 5. |
