PURPOSE:To conduct the high-speed mass production of the same images of high density, by a method wherein a thermal transfer sheet is peeled so that a hot melt ink layer transferred on an endothermic image portion remains to form a transfer sheet provided with the hot melt ink layer on the endothermic image portion. CONSTITUTION:An endothermic image portion 12 of a plate 1 is brought into close contact with a hot melt ink layer 22, and heat rays such as infrared rays IR is directed from the side of a base film 21, whereby the temperature of the endothermic image portion 12 is increased, which results in the melt of the hot melt ink layer 22. After a thermal transfer sheet 2 is removed, a hot melt ink layer 22A remains on the endothermic image portion 12; in this manner, a transfer sheet 3 is formed. After that, a body to be transferred 4 is brought into close contact with the transfer sheet 3 and heated from one side. As a result, the melt ink layer 22A is transferred to the body to be transferred 4. Thereafter, the transfer sheet 3 is peeled off to obtain a printed matter 5. |
