In order to produce ceramic composites or cermets, two thin metallic plates (11, 12), preferably having a thickness of between 0.5 mu m and 200 mu m enclose a less compact material (13), and the components of this combination are then pressed together and sintered. Such pressing often leads to a basic change in the three-dimensional shape. The composites obtained have numerous applications, whether as reinforcement for molten-cast bricks, filters or superconducting cables. |
