<p>To eliminate underground contamination, complete degradation of the substances separated out from the (ground) water is proposed. The object of the invention is achieved by arranging that, on the one hand, the soil and especially its contaminated zone (17) is thoroughly rinsed and, furthermore, that the (ground) water is biologically purified. This biological purification takes place, for example, in immersed drum reactors (12) where an anaerobic (24) and an aerobic (25) biological treatment stage have been combined in terms of equipment in a consecutive manner. In addition, ozone treatment (11) can be undertaken before the biological purification, and slow filtration (14) can be carried out before and/or during the return of the purified water to the soil. The process according to the invention and the equipment proposed for carrying out the process are particularly suitable for the elimination of underground contamination by hydrocarbons on ex- industrial sites. <IMAGE></p> |
