PURPOSE:To reduce the number of times of loading a diagnosing program by half, and to compress a storing area for the diagnosing program, by enabling one kind of diagnosing program to diagnose a hardware function having plural software interfaces. CONSTITUTION:When the diagnosis of the hardware HW function having the plural software interfaces SWIF of operating systems OS-A and OS-B is performed, the diagnosing program 2a is loaded on the main body 1a of a computer system. Next, when the program 2a is executed, the program 2a decides the SWIF possible to be operated at present by using a bit of HW information obtained through the SWIF, and selects the SWIF of the OS-A, or the OS-B based on the above decision. And the diagnosis processing of the HW function is executed according to a selected result, and it is selected whether the diagnosis should be performed again or not corresponding to the result of the diagnosis processing. In this way, it is possible to diagnose the HW function having plural SWIFs by one kind of diagnosing program, to reduce the number of times of loading the diagnosing program, and to compress the storing area of the program. |
