<p>The invention refers to non-slip coverings and in particular to a means of minimizing the slipperiness in bathtubs or in floors of bathroom facilities that are floored with smooth ceramic or marble tiles, etc. So far this new technology has manufactured anti-slip strips, which are fixed to bathroom floors or in bathtubs with a liquid adhesive or any other fixed adhesive. The disadvantage of the adhesive in question is that the smooth enamel surfaces of bathtubs or floors must be scraped. Another disadvantage is that due to it being an adhesive, which is continually showered by hot water, the strips gradually become detached. Also, we cannot keep the strips as clean as we want etc. It is necessary to use these strips in bathtubs as prevention against slipping especially by elderly persons, and they are also necessary in bathtubs of ships, aircrafts etc, where added hazards of slipping are observed due to the craft's movement. In order to do away with these disadvantages, the suggested invention is being described here as non-slip strips, which consist of bands of various colours, made of flexible thermoplastic material, e.g. polyvinyl chloride (P.V.C.) and having on each side attached a number of suckers. The bands or strips, which are placed on the smooth surface of the bathtub or floor by exerting pressure on the above, adhere to the surface providing an easy solution to the slippery surface or any other obstacles. The plastic strip or band, on which the suckers are attached, can be made into various shapes.</p> |
