PURPOSE:To obtain a realiable high speed printing head at a low cost, by a method wherein a piezo-electric element is compressed to be pinched between the inner walls of a U-shaped base having a comb-type end face corresponding thereto, and a printing needle is provided at the free end of a plate spring of which the another end is fixed. CONSTITUTION:A displacement is transmitted to a finger part 2 by the excitation of a piezo-electric element 3, which further acts on a plate spring 5 via the finger part 2. The response of the piezo-electric element is as large as several tens of kHz. A shock force acts on a plate spring 5 from the finger part 2 by this quick rise, and the plate spring 5 flies free forward. An ink ribbon 7 and paper 8 are struck by a printing needle 4 on the plate spring 5, and a character is drawn by a dot matrix. The piezo-electric element 3 is always compressed by the finger part 2, and a rupture as in the case with a conventional device due to the action of a tensile force does not occur. This printing head is low-priced because its working is easy. Further, since the action of the tensile force of the piezo-electric element 3 is suppressed, a reliable head can be obtained. |
