PURPOSE:To improve the suitability of a silver halide photographic material for a photomechanical process to reduction by incorporating silver halide particles of a specified particle size into a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer and a matting agent of a specified particle size into a nonphotosensitive hydrophilic colloidal layer. CONSTITUTION:When at least one photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer and two or more nonphotosensitive hydrophilic colloidal layers as upper layers are formed on a support, fine silver halide particles of <=0.15mum average particle size are incorporated into the silver halide emulsion layer. It is preferable that a tetrazolium compd., a hydrazine compd. or the like is also incorporated into the emulsion layer. A matting agent of 1.0-10mum average particle size is incorporated into the outermost one of the colloidal layers. Silica, polymethyl methacrylate or the like is used as the matting agent. |
