METHOD TO RENOVATE THE VISIBLE FACES OF A WORN WOODEN STAIRCASE, AND METAL SLAT FOR CARRYING OUT THE METHOD

In the method a wooden impact strip (6) and a tread covering (5) consisting of hard or special wood at least on the surface are fastened to the worn stair (1). Wood strips (16) projecting above the original height of the worn stair (1) are fastened to the latter and are either only added or inserted into cut grooves. A U-shaped metal rail (A or B) surrounding the impact edge has on its web means for supporting the impact strip (6), and its upper flange is flush with the wood strips (16). The tread covering (5) connected to the impact strip (6) to form a wooden support is connected to the worn stair (1) by means of assembly foam (14) and the tread covering (5) is held down against the pressure of the assembly foam (14) by the riser (3) fastened to spacer strips (4) and belonging to the next stair above.
