Apparatus for the gluing of carton blanks is provided with a glue applicator (24) which is movable between a position beneath the level (39) of the glue in a glue chamber (37) for applying glue to the application surface (38) and an upper position where the glue application surface (38) abuts against the blank. The glue chamber (37) is, by the intermediary of a pump arrangement (40-42), connected to a reservoir (34) for glue, and is provided with an overflow spillway (46) for recycling excess glue to the reservoir (34). Suitably, the applicator (24) reciprocally movable in a vertical direction and is connected to a piston included in the pump arrangement (40-42), this giving greater pumping capacity than the glue consumption of the glue applicator machine. <IMAGE> |
