Provided herein is a compound of the formula: <CHEM> wherein R<1> is a C1-C2 alkyl group; R<2> is a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, methyl group, or trifluoromethyl group at the o- or m-position; R<3> is a halogen atom, methyl group, or trifluoromethyl group; and X is an oxygen or sulfur atom, a process for its production, chemical intermediates in said process, use of the compounds of the above general formula as a herbicide, a herbicide containing said compounds as lu active ingredient and a method of controlling undesired weeds comprising applying a herbicidally effective amount of the said compound and an inert carrier.
