PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of toner powdery smoke at the time of setting up a toner cartridge by providing an engaging parts to be engaged/ discharged with/from each other on a hopper and the toner cartridge and forming an opening/closing plate for preventing the generation of powdery smoke on the hopper. CONSTITUTION:The toner cartridge 1 is set up on the upper part of the hopper 2 so that the projecting piece 1a of the cartridge 1 is disengaged from the engaging piece 2a of the hopper 2. Consequently, the powdery smoke preventing plate 3 is pressed by the lower part of the cartridge 1 and opened. Then, the cartridge 1 is slid to engage the projecting piece 1a with the engaging piece 2a and fixed to the hopper 2 and a seal tape 4 is drawn out to feed toner in the cartridge 1 to the inside of the hopper 2. The toner in the cartridge 1 is replenished to the hopper 2. After completing the toner replenishing, the used cartridge 1 is slid in a reverse direction and the projecting piece 1a is disengaged from the engaging piece 2a to detach the cartridge 1 from the hopper 2. In such a case, the powdery smoke preventing plate 3 is returned to the original position by a spring 5 and the aperture of the hopper 2 is closed, so that the discharge of the powdery smoke can be suppressed. |
