PURPOSE:To accelerate the color development of a sensitive material having photographic constituent layers including blue-, green- and red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers and colloidal silver layers by specifying the amount of a binder in the photographic constituent layers and the degree of swelling of the layers. CONSTITUTION:When photographic constituent layers including blue-, green- and red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers and colloidal silver layers are formed to obtain a silver halide photographic sensitive material for direct positive, internal latent image type silver halide particles are incorporated into at least one of the silver halide emulsion layers. The amount of a binder used to form the photographic constituent layers is regulated to <=8g/m<2> so as to shorten the time of immersion in a processing soln. Gelatin or the like is used as the binder. The degree of swelling of the photographic constituent layers is also regulated to <=170% with a hardening agent such as an s-triazine hardening agent so as to accelerate development. Thus, superior rapid processability is provided and a high quality image having low minimum density can be formed. |
