Titanium tetrachloride is prepared by chlorination of titanium-containing raw materials in the presence of reducing agents at temperatures from 800 to 1200 DEG C with the formation of titanium tetrachloride-containing reaction gases, removal of dusts and solid metal chlorides and condensation of the titanium tetrachloride in condensers by direct cooling of the reaction gases with liquid titanium tetrachloride.
