PURPOSE:To facilitate focus adjusting operation by providing a read means for the position of a knob and a control means which controls a motor according to the position of the knob read at the time of manual focus adjustment and puts a subject in focus. CONSTITUTION:A 1st position sensor 36 detects the position of a rear lens system 30c and supplies a computing element 35 with the detection signal of a digital value corresponding to the movement distance x2 of a rear lens which is the relative distance between the rear lens system 30c and an image pickup element 31. A 2nd position sensor 37 detects the position of a zoom system 30b and supplies the computing element 35 with the detection signal of a digital value corresponding to focal length (f). An output signal corresponding to the position of the knob 30a of a variable resistor 40 is supplied to an A/D converter 42 and supplied to the computing element 35 as a digital value which is 0% when the knob 40a is at the left end position, increased as the knob 40a moves toward the right end, and 100% at the right end position. Consequently, an automatic focus adjustment is made when the knob 40a is at the position of a 50% center click, and the operability is improved. |
