PRODUCTION OF URACIL

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain uracil useful as a raw material for pharmaceuticals and a biochemical reagent, by culturing a novel bacterial strain belonging to Clostridum genus and capable of producing uracil. CONSTITUTION:Clostridium sp. No.S-1 (FERM P-8852) which is a uracil- producing bacterial strain belonging to Clostridum genus is cultured usually under anaerobic condition and the produced and accumulated uracil is recovered from the culture system.
