PURPOSE:To prevent a thermal printing ribbon from being deteriorated at the time of fitting and detaching it, by a method wherein a thermal printing ribbon is previously contained in an elongate ribbon cassette, and the cassette can be fitted to and detached from a main body of a printer in a click-fit manner. CONSTITUTION:When the first engaging and stopping part 181 side of the ribbon cassette H is lifted up, an engaging point P1 between the part 181 and the first engaging part 183 is raised along a hook part of the part 183, while the second engaging and stopping part 182 is also elastically bent, and a main body 34 of the cassette H is moved in the direction of an arrow X, whereby drawing- out of the part 181 is facilitated. The main body 34 with the part 181 disengaged is rotated further upward. The main body 34 is so rotated that a cut surface 182d on the side of the part 182 becomes substantially vertical Y toward an opening part of the second engaging part 184, and the main body 34 is drawn upward. Engagement between the part 182 and the part 184 in this condition is made only on the side of a hook part 182b. Accordingly, since the degree of engagement is reduced to about one half of that in the case where the cassette H is set to side plates 14, 15, a reaction to the cassette H can be eliminated. |
