PURPOSE:To stabilize contact-resistance characteristics and temperature-rise characteristics, by incorporating a high-conductivity material of Cu, etc., and prescribed percentages of Mo, W, V, Nb, Ta, and Cr and by allowing specific amounts of Cr to enter into solid solution in the above high-conductivity material. CONSTITUTION:This contact alloy for vacuum valve is formed of a high- conductivity material prepared by passing through a sintering and/or infiltration stage and composed of Cu and/or Ag and a Cr-base arc-resistant material. Further, this Cr-base arc-resistant material consists of, by weight, <=50%, in total of one or more elements among Mo, W, V, Nb, and Ta and the balance Cr and, moreover, 0.01-0.35% Cr is allowed to enter into solid solution in the above high-conductivity material. |
