<p>An apparatus for assembling or palletising articles has a transfer table which can be reciprocally moved by means of a trolley along a horizontal girder of a transverse bridge and can be tilted over an endless conveyor belt. The object is to provide an apparatus of this type with which articles which are combined in groups of four or more articles can be conveyed in palletised form from an upstream device. This object is achieved in that the transfer table has a horizontal surface for receiving four articles supplied from an upstream device, e.g. a press, in a co-planar arrangement which is preferably formed by two adjacent, rectangular panels for receiving two articles each. A row of stops, in each case fixed on a shaft, is arranged along one long side of each panel, these stops supporting the two articles placed on the respective panel during the tilting of the transfer table into a substantially vertical position. The stops are retractable, in order to release the articles, by a simultaneous actuation of the two shafts by means of a common pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder, so that the two articles which are positioned lower in the tilted position of the table can be directly deposited on a pallet or platform which is advanced by steps by means of the conveyor belt, while the two upper articles can be transferred by means of an assigned vertical conveyor onto the same pallet or platform.</p> |
