<p>PURPOSE:To produce the titled ink suitable for offset printing, causing little pollution of the atmosphere, having improved workability in printing operation, providing high-quality printed matters, by using varnish obtained by dissolving a resin having an acid value of <=a specific value in a solvent. CONSTITUTION:The aimed ink using a varnish obtained by dissolving (A) a resin which is obtained by reacting (i) a rosin modified alkyd resin containing a carboxyl group prepared from rosin and/or a derivative thereof, a polyhydric alcohol and, if necessary, a polyfunctional carboxylic acid with (ii) a phenolic resin in the presence of (iii) an acidic catalyst and adjusted to <=40 acid value in (B) a solvent which comprises naphthene having <=-10 deg.C pour point as a main component and has >=200 deg.C boiling point. A ratio of carboxyl group of the rosin and/or the derivative thereof and hydroxyl group of the polyhydric alcohol is 1:1, the component B used contains <=10wt% aromatic hydrocarbon and has preferably 55-85 deg.C aniline point.</p> |
