PURPOSE:To enable efficient and momentary heating of a foot warmer when a switch is turned on for the foot warmer, by a method wherein a latent heat-type heat accumulating material, accumulating heat energy from the foot warmer, is arranged in a place in a carpet body, and a latent heat is emitted by a stimulation imparting means. CONSTITUTION:During steady heating wherein a switch is turned ON and heating is effected in a foot warmer 1, a latent heat type heat accumulating material 6 is heated to a phase change temperature Tm or higher by means of a radiant heat from an electric heater 4, and is kept in a liquid phase state. At a time point Mo when the need for heating is eliminated, the switch is turned OFF and heating is stopped, the heat accumulating material 6 is cooled by open air to decrease its temperature. In which case, even if the heat accumulating material 6 is cooled down to the phase change temperature Tm or lower, it is held in a overcooled liquefied state. Subsequently, at a time point H1 when heating is started, if a stimulus is given by piercing a needle 8 the heat accumulating material 6, the temperature of the heat accumulating material 6 is momentarily heated up to the phase change temperature Tm to start coagulation, and a latent heat, accumulated in the heat accumulating material 6, is emitted during a certain period in which the heat accumulating material is changed from a liquid phase to a solid phase. Thus this constitution enables heating from the floor surface side by exerting a stimulus on the heat accumulating material 6. |
