PURPOSE:To obtain a wire-shaped material having a prescribed length by protecting high hardness wire materials with a protective body, deforming the protective body and fixing the same then cutting the materials thereby cutting efficiently and easily the high hardness materials and preventing burring and cracking after the cutting. CONSTITUTION:Wire materials 1 consisting of tungsten are packed in a pipe 2 of a material such as copper or Al softer than the material 1 and are oscillated by a vibrator. The materials 1 are disposed highest densely except in the upper part of the pipe 2. The materials 1 are inserted as far as possible into the upper space. When the wire materials are then pressed by a pressing device constituted of a plunger 6 and a holding body 7, the pipe 2 is deformed and the materials 1 in the pipe 2 are arranged further to nearly the highest density packing state, by which the wires are securely fixed. The wire materials are cut in this state. |
