In the press device 1 having a square sectional reciprocating body (4) installed for free back-and-forth movements in the base (3) of the main body (2), the base (3) has in the center a square sectioned pressure chamber (5) corresponding to the shape of the body (4) for housing it. Around the chamber (5) in the center are provided a plurality of pressure medium compartments (6) for supplying the medium to the pressure chamber (5) through passages (11) formed in ribs (10) at the bottom of the base.
