PURPOSE:To obtain a variable power picture having gradation properties by calculating the gradation levels out of the binary picture data for each (m Xn) matrix and choosing the density patterns prepared in response to those gradation levels for segmentation of submatrices. CONSTITUTION:The binary picture date is fetched by a 8-line buffer and segmented into (8 X 8) input matrices to be supplied to a counter 12. The counter 12 counts the black picture elements of the input matrices and the gradation levels are decided by a gradation conversion table 14 in response to the counting result of black picture elements. Then a pattern generator 16 segments (4 X 4) matrices out of the (8 X 8) matrices of corresponding levels. These segmented submatrices are evolved based on an original array of density patterns segmented to a bit map memory 18. Then the contents of the memory 18 are outputted as the write signals via an interface 20. |
