PURPOSE:To ascertain the setting of a change gear in a short time without actually processing a gear to be cut. CONSTITUTION:An operating device 14 is formed of an operation section 13 and a pulse counter 12 and is operated by an operation box 15. The module Mn of the elementary items of the gear to be cut and the elementary items of a hob G are inputted to the operation section 13 whereupon the operation section 13 operates the angle of torsion beta in accordance with the following formula, that is, Sin<-1> (G.P/Q.K.Mn.pi) (wherein K is a constant determined by the gear train of the machine). The angle of torsion obtained by the operation section 13 is digitally displayed by a display device 16. |
