<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of choking with a paper sheet, by a method wherein, through selection of a copy sheet, having size being too large to contain it in a sheet refeed device, by means of an automatic copy sheet selecting mechanism, copying motion is stopped to sound an alarm. CONSTITUTION:During duplication in a mode in which copy sheets are contained in a sheet refeed device 130, i.e., a double copy mode or a composite copy mode, a necessary copy sheet size is indexed from a document size, detected by means of a sensor Se8 of an ADF 80, and copy magnification by means of an automatic copy sheet selecting mechanism to select cassettes 62-64. In this case, when a copy sheet, detected by either a paper size detecting switch SW17-20, SW21-24, or SW25-28, of the selected cassette has a size being too large to contain it in the sheet refeed device 130, a control device stops motion of a copying machine and alarms. This constitution enables prevention of the occurrence of a trouble, e.g. choking with a sheet.</p> |
