<p>PURPOSE:To improve a color of a fixed display pattern and to eliminate a sense of incongruity of display by covering a prescribed part of a liquid crystal oriented film which has covered the inside surface of an electrode substrate, with a liquid crystal orientation eliminating film, and performing a color printing to the inside surface position or the back position of the electrode substrate corresponding to this part. CONSTITUTION:The inside surface of two electrode substrates 2, 2' interposing a liquid crystal packing part 7 between them is covered with liquid crystal oriented films 4, 4' for generating a prescribed orientation in a liquid crystal. Also, a prescribed part of the oriented films 4, 4' is covered with a liquid crystal orientation eliminating film 5 for eliminating said prescribed orientation, a color printing 9 is performed to the inside surface of the substrate or the back position corresponding to said prescribed part, and a color display is executed in a position corresponding to said prescribed part. The orientation eliminating film 5 is formed, for instance, by a transparent ink such as an epoxy compound ink, etc., and as to the color printing 9, too, a pattern is formed by the transparent ink. By a liquid crystal display element of such a structure, a fixed display pattern (a) and a variable display pattern (b) of a numerical segment shape are color-displayed distinctly by a negative display, and used for an electronic game machine, etc.</p> |
