PURPOSE:To reduce an operator's burden by detecting whether a document exists on a document placing table or not, after a first document has been fed in a stable that a semi-automatic feeding mode has been selected, switching the semi-automatic feeding mode to an automatic feeding mode by its detecting signal when said document exists, and feeding the document placed on the document placing table. CONSTITUTION:In a semi-automatic feeding mode (SADF mode) for feeding one by one sheet of a document D which is set one by one sheet on a document placing table 12, and an automatic feeding mode (ADF mode) for feeding one by one sheet of plural sheets of documents D which are set simultaneously on the document placing table 12, when plural sheets of documents D are set onto the document placing table 12 in a state that the SADF mode selected, the mode is switched automatically from the SADF mode to the ADF mode. In this state, the document D after the second sheet is fed automatically. In this way, an operator can as a result process the document just as he intends without executing trouble-some operation. |
