New hybrid plasminogen activators for thrombolytic use - contain heterologous polypeptide cringles and have improved potency and stability and increased binding affinity for fibrin

Hybrid plasminogen activator (I) contg. plural heterologous polypeptide Cringles is new. DNA unit having a nucleotide sequence encoding (I) is new. Cloning vector including a DNA unit as defined above is new. Micro-organism or cell culture transformed with a vector as defined above is new. (I) pref. contains 2-6 kringles, and it is esp. a tris or tetrakis-kringle plasminogen activator. It may contain a polypeptide sequence corresp. to the amino acid sequence 92-261 of t-PA, or to 1-261 or 92-527 of t-PA, 1-131 or 50-131 of urokinase or 65-248 of prothrombin.
