PURPOSE:To ensure the dynamic change of definition for change and addition of constitution of a work station WS without stopping the working of a system, by using a replacement map to control the information on presence/absence of a change, etc., of the WS constitution. CONSTITUTION:The information on presence/absence of a change, etc., of the constitution of a WS is controlled by a replacement map 20. When a WS connection request is produced, the presence/absence of a change is checked for a block having the information on the WS. If the block has a change, this change is reflected on a main memory. Thus it is possible to carry out freely the change, addition and deletion of the WS information on an external memory device 14 even in an on-line service mode. Plural pieces of WS information are divided into groups and stored in each block 16 serving as an input/output unit of the device 14. Thus a single block is read out to a main memory loop 24 for pool control of the definition information on plural WS. |
