PURPOSE:To form a soft magnetic thin film having high saturation magnetic flux density, excellent friction proof characteristic and good recording/reading characteristic by adding banadium to a Fe-Ga-Si (including that where a part of Fe is replace with Co) system alloy. CONSTITUTION:Composition is expressed by FeaCobGacSidVe. The composition range of a-e indicating the atom% of composition ratio is indicated as, 68<=a<=84, 0<=b<=15, 1<=c<=23, 6<=d<=31, 0.5<=e<=6.0, a+b+c+d+e=100. When amount of banadium added to the basic alloy is less than 0.5 atom%, the desired improvement of friction proof characteristic cannot be obtained. But, when it is larger than 6.0 atom%, magnetic characteristic may be deteriorated. Moreover, a part of banadium may be replaced at least with a kind of Ti, Cr, Mn, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ta, W, Ru, Os, Ir, Re, Ni, Pd, pt and Hf. In this case, amount of banadium and such element to be added is preferably ranged from 0.5 atom% to 6.0 atom%. |
