PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of a local cell and to obtain a sharp copied image by forming a resin layer having a gas barrier action on the surface of a drum and blocking water vapor with the resin layer. CONSTITUTION:The drum of an electrophotographic organic photosensitive body is surface treated with a resin having a gas barrier action. The resin layer having a gas barrier action is made of vinylidene chloride polymer or copolymer, such as a vinylidene chloride-acrylonitrile copolymer, a vinylidene chloride-vinyl chloride copolymer, and a vinylidene chloride homopolymer. Since these resins block permeation of water vapor in the air, the water vapor in the air is blocked by forming this resin layer on the surface of the drum, and the local cell due to the water vapor is not caused on the surface of the drum. The resin layer thickness is regulated to <=1.0mum, preferably, <=0.6mum. |
