PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for high accuracy of mounting by forming a specific groove to a plate-shaped soft blade member thereby widening the permissible range of the pressing amt. to set the pressing force of the plate- shaped soft blade member to a photosensitive drum at a specified range. CONSTITUTION:This cleaning blade is formed with the plate-shaped soft blade member 4 made of an urethane resin by monolithic molding on a plate-shaped holding member made of a metal. The groove 5 extending along one side edge of the member 4 over the entire length in the longitudinal direction thereof is formed on the plate surface of said member. The cleaning blade is brought into the state warping in the direction opposite from the rotating direction of the photosensitive drum 1 and one side edge thereof in this state contacts the drum 1 and scrapes off the residual toner on the surface of the drum 1, when such cleaning blade is mounted to an electrophotographic copying machine. The member 4 is held in a highly resilient state by the pressure of the groove in this case. The permissible range of the pressing amt. to set the pressing force within the specified range is thereby widened and the need for the high accuracy of the mounting is eliminated. |
