PURPOSE:To obtain a battery with good high rate discharge performance and long life by forming a conductor for connecting plates by conducting electroplating after hot dipping. CONSTITUTION:A 10-20mum thick lead layer is formed by hot dipping of lead or lead alloy on a good conductive core made of copper or copper alloy. A 10-1000mum thick lead layer is formed thereon by electroplating to form a conductor which connects electrode plates in parallel. This conductor does not expose the core metal until the life of a battery terminates, and the elution of copper into electrolyte is prevented, and a lead-acid battery with good high rate discharge performance and long life can be obtained. |
